Windrush C of E Primary School opened to pupils in September 2021.

It is the latest example of the Persimmon Model School, is compliant with Oxfordshire County Council’s particular briefing requirements and meets the Department for Education Facilities Output Specification.

As Consultant to architects Stride Treglown, Philipson Knowle were responsible for developing and agreeing outline proposals, obtaining planning approval and overseeing the delivery of the construction stage.  The first phase of this school comprises eleven classes with nursery, and specially resourced provision (SRP) for Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)pupils.  Future phases could increase capacity go the school to 525 pupils.

Meeting the principles of BREEAM very good and achieving BB101: Ventilation, thermal comfort and indoor air quality criteria, this project demonstrates further how the model school can easily adapt to meet changing performance requirements and provide a superb learning environment.
